Sarah-Jane Stevens

Co-Founder & Developmental Educator

Hi, I’m Sarah-Jane Stevens, or ‘SJ’ as my students call me. I am passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities.

I started my work in the disability sector in 2014, after completing a double degree in Education and Disability Studies and just recently a postgraduate in Trauma. From a Disability Support worker to a Developmental Therapist, I strongly believe in a holistic and person-centred approach to support, which means I always consider the individual's needs, wants, and preferences first.

I am extremely passionate about this field and firmly believe that everyone has the right to be supported in a way that meets their individual needs.

Lloyd Everett

Co-Founder & Business Director

Hi, I'm Lloyd Everett. After many years as an accountant, I co-founded Assist Developmental Therapy with Sarah-Jane.

Witnessing SJ, a talented and passionate therapist, struggle with the constraints and bureaucracy of her previous employer inspired me to act. Despite her exceptional ability to connect with and help her clients, she was undervalued.

I knew we could create something better together—an environment focused on meaningful work and genuine connections. I'm passionate about building something special, ensuring our team and clients feel supported and valued.

Our Story:

SJ's previous experience was marred by undue emphasis on administrative tasks and a lack of recognition for her real strengths—forming relationships and making a difference in her clients' lives. This drove us to establish Assist Developmental Therapy. We wanted to create a space where therapists like SJ could thrive, free from unnecessary constraints, and focus on what truly matters: helping clients.

Our Mission:

At Assist Developmental Therapy, we help individuals with autism, ADHD, and other disabilities unlock their potential.

We provide personalised, effective support tailored to each individual's needs. Our goal is to build a trusted team of exceptional therapists—occupational therapists, speech therapists, and developmental educators—who are passionate about their jobs, loved by clients, and appreciated by families.

We value work-life balance, ensuring our providers are well-compensated and have the freedom to spend time with loved ones and do what they love. Our therapists are encouraged to advance their training and skills to be their best.

Success Stories: We take pride in the positive impact our services have on our clients. One parent shared, "Since working with Assist Developmental Therapy, my child's communication skills have improved significantly, and they are happier and more confident." These success stories fuel our passion and commitment to providing the best care possible.

Join Us: Join Assist Developmental Therapy and be part of a team dedicated to making a difference. We provide a supportive environment where therapists can focus on what they do best—helping clients. Enjoy a healthy work-life balance, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional growth. Be valued, appreciated, and free to spend more time with your loved ones. Unlock your potential with us!
